Forget travel trends - think more about how you want to see the world going forward
I hate the word ‘trends’.
wrote a great article recently about interior trends (or lack thereof) and I’ve seen a few pieces flying around talking about how the biggest trend is to ignore the trends. The word ‘trend’ conjures up visions of fleeting fads, whether you’re talking about fashion or travel. It just all feels a bit out of touch when we’re all thinking about how to be more sustainable and how to spend less cash.I always think trends are a bit of a weird one when it comes to travel anyway. People travel much less often that they buy new clothing, homeware or beauty products. Many of us plan our trips far in advance. Whatever the media tells us is in trend doesn’t really dictate where most of us choose to spend our holidays. BUT there is definitely a move towards a slower, more sustainable, more ethical way of seeing the world - and that involves a few ‘in’s and a few ‘out’s’.
